CA State Parks. Elephant-seal viewing beach — thousands of northern elephant seals haul out at the rookery (guided walks in breeding season by reservation), plus coastal trails and a visitor center in the historic dairy barns. ⚠ Wildlife viewing, NOT a swimming beach. ⚠ Seal viewing was closed Feb–Mar 2026 during an avian-flu response and the reservation season was cancelled through Mar 31, 2026;
