Mechanics' Institute (the historic downtown SF library/chess club) runs a scholastic chess program distinct from Bright Knights Chess Club -- includes in-classroom coaching in about 20 mostly Title 1 SF schools, school-break chess camps, and the free annual San Francisco Scholastic Chess Championship (ages 5-17) each spring at Yerba Buena Gardens.
