A real National Park unit at Aquatic Park: a free maritime museum plus several genuine historic ships moored at Hyde Street Pier that kids can board and explore (sailing ships, tugboats, a scow schooner) -- run by the National Park Service, a different operator than the nearby USS Pampanito/SS Jeremiah O'Brien (both nonprofit-run WWII ships).
Good to know
- The Maritime Museum itself and the Visitor Center are free. Boarding the Hyde Street Pier ships costs $15/person (valid 7 days, covers all vessels at the pier); children 15 and under are free, and an America the Beautiful National Park pass also covers entry.
- The pier itself (without boarding the ships) is free to walk, with Junior Ranger booklets available for kids.
